ELITE RIO GOLD XP Fly Lines

Choose RIO ELITE GOLD XP for Extra Power + Extra Versatility.
1/2 SIZE HEAVY / EXTRA POWER
With a mid-length head and half-size heavy design, GOLD XP is the most versatile taper in the GOLD lineup. The added “extra power” relative to classic GOLD gives it the flexibility to excel across the widest variety of techniques and casting lengths, offering truly blended performance. Thanks to its medium-long rear taper and a balanced body for improved turnover of indicators and nymphs, GOLD XP is at home sending drys at distance, running heavier rigs though deeper pools and making quick shots from drift boats. GOLD XP is still perfectly capable of delivering precise, delicate presentations, while its added weight makes the line fish and cast comfortably at shorter distances, typical of wading on smaller waters.
• Mid-length head and half-size heavy weight
• Medium-long rear taper maintains line control for longer presentations
• Balanced body with ample power at the front to turn over the widest range of rigs
• Enough rear power to load rods more deeply for short- to mid-length shots
• Mid-length front taper for increased versatility for turning over heavier rigs on shorter leaders powerfully or tiny dry flies on long leaders with finesse

ELITE RIO GOLD MAX Fly Lines

Choose PREMIER GOLD MAX for Maximum Power + Effortless Performance.
REAR LOADED / FULL SIZE HEAVY

PREMIER GOLD MAX is RIO’s most powerful all-around taper for delivering plus-size rigs that get bites in fisheries not centered around long leaders and tiny drys. With the shortest head length in the GOLD class, MAX is the right fit for smoothly loading weightier, unwieldy payloads. The short head carries more weight toward the back of the body so anglers can turn over heavier rigs more efficiently, while the shorter front taper combined with tapered body roll-casts bulkier rigs with ease, mends effortlessly at distance and delivers large drys with finesse. For powerful versatility, GOLD MAX lets you cast more weight under control, while also allowing for presentations decidedly cleaner than overly front-loaded line configurations.

Choose GOLD MAX for Maximum Power + Effortless Performance.

• Compact and powerful, the short head and full-size heavy weight carries bulkier flies and rigs with ease
• Short rear taper for improved shooting on longer distance casts
• Rear-loaded body turns over heavier rigs smoother than aggressive front-loaded designs and makes for easy roll casting and mending of entire head
• Short front taper powerfully turns over bulky flies and heavier indicator setups

FEATURES
• DualToneMarks the sweet spot of a fly line by providing an obvious color change in the line at the sweet spot.
• EasyID RIO’s printed line marking system that allows anglers to quickly and easily identify each line.
• Front Welded LoopA neat, bulletproof loop welded at the front of the fly line for fast rigging.
• Back Welded Loop A neat, bulletproof loop welded at the end of the fly line for fast rigging to backing.

Rio Gold

The Rio Gold fly line has a revolutionary design that allows for incredible loop stability at distance, a unique taper that allows a rod to load at close range and a positive front taper that delivers perfect presentation of flies between sizes #22 and #2 , RIO Gold is the ultimate all-around, floating line for freshwater fly fishing. The long back taper is excellent for mending and for roll and spey casting and the running line and head are different colours, making it easy to find the line’s perfect loading point. The Rio Gold line features RIO’s XS Technology for an extraordinarily slick, dirt-repelling coating, as well as AgentX and Super Floatation technology that ensure the tip and the running line will float high.

Rio Gold dual tone fly lines have a welded loop on both ends of the flyline facilitating leader change and permitting fast rigging and line changes.

A new pink RIO Gold line is now available, with RIO’s proceeds from all sales going to Casting for Recovery.
