RIO’S SKAGIT TROUT MAX heads are designed for two-handed fishing for trout
Their mass distribution allows for easy, sustained-anchor casts with sink tips and weighted flies.
Coupled with floating tips and long, tapered leaders, the heads delicately present nymphs and
soft hackles. The short length makes them fantastic tools for casting in the tightest of quarters and
also well-suited for a wide range of fly presentation techniques, including stripping, jigging and the

Rio's Flight Shooting Head is the ultimate in short head spey lines, delivering maximum flight time, effortless casting strokes and the tightest and sweetest of loops. Based on the extraordinarily successful AFS head, the line features a heavy back end that loads rods deeply and easily and a subtle taper that ensures the energy flows smoothly to the tip, generating improved loops and long, long flight times and distance. The front end has a thick tip that packs a big punch and easily lifts out heavy tips and large flies with supreme ease. The heads vary in length a little depending on the size. Attach a shooting line to the ultra strong welded loop at the back end and one of RIO’s 15 ft tips or a piece of T-14 or T-17 (sold separately) to the exceptionally neat, bullet proof front loop.

The Extra Heavy MOW Tips are the heaviest of the MOW series; built with T-17 for the sinking section and with a sink rate of nearly 10" per second, it really gets down when depth is needed. Each of the tips either have a gray floating section, or a gray loop for easy identification. These tips are ideal on the heavier Skagit lines of 675 grains and more.

The Heavy MOW Tips feature T-14, with a sink rate of 9" per second, for the sinking material. Each of these tips has either a light blue floating section or a blue sleeve on one end for easy identification. The Heavy MOW Tips are designed for the heaviest of flies and are ideal for Skagit lines of 575 grains and more. There are six unique tips that make up the series.

RIO Intouch Skagit 3D MOW Tips

RIO’S INTOUCH 3D MOW TIPS are powerful, multi-density tips designed to cast large flies. Each tip is built with a seamless blend of different densities that ensures the smoothest transition of energy when casting, and the very best depth control when fishing. These tips are ideal additions to any Skagit style line or head, and particularly excel on multi-density Skagit lines like RIO's Skagit Max GameChanger. All 3D MOW tips are built on RIO’s ConnectCore for ultra-low stretch performance.

Each 3D MOW tip is 10ft long, with 3ft of the first and second sinking sections, and 4 feet of the fastest sinking section. A colour coded sleeve is welded on to the rear end of the tip to identify the weight, and printed with all the relevant info. The colours are as follows:

Light 3D MOW - White Sleeve
Medium 3D MOW - Green Sleeve
Heavy 3D MOW - Blue Sleeve

RIO Skagit iMOW Tips

RIO’s new iMow Tips have an intermediate section, instead of a floating, which creates a smooth depth transition between a floating body and fast sinking tip, and perfect contact between the angler and the fly, they are also the ideal tip for intermediate based Skagit heads, like RIO’s iFlight. There are three weight series (Light, Medium and Heavy) and four tips within each series.

Light iMOW tips feature T-8 for a sinking section (with a sink rate of about 7” per second) and are most suitable for Skagit lines of 475 grains and less.

Medium iMOW tips feature T-11 for a sinking section (with a sink rate of about 8” per second) and are most suitable for heads between 475 and 575 grains.
