The biggest and most radical step over other shooting heads is Vision's Sliding Density™ construction of the sinking heads. Instead of making the line with two or even three different density materials Vision have made these lines with a continuous change of the density. So for example their Inter to Sink3 head's density changes gradually from intermediate to Sink3. This way they have made a line which doesn't have ANY hinging effect during the cast. It flies in a really nice and controlled loop offering extremely good energy transfer turning over big and heavy flies. With the Sliding Density™ construction together with the new Carrot taper they have been able to make the easiest casting sinking heads on the market, period.
The other thing with these heads is the Down To Earth colours. The sinking lines are chosen to mimic best its environment sub surface, these being brownish and greenish in colour. The Floating Carrot with its HiFlo™ coating rides very high on the surface and with a carrot orange colour it is very easy to see and follow exactly where your fly is.
The Clear Float has a different approach. It is fully transparent so to minimise the shadow it casts. It floats lower than the Carrot, just about on the surface, so the disturbance during the swing is minimal.
In all, this Vision range of heads offer a tailored solution to pretty much every fishing situation you're likely to encounter. All shooting heads are not the same, these are different... but are they better? Vision think so, but we'll let you be the judge of that.

Clear low float coating on a clear monofilament core.
The low float coating reduces the surface disturbance when you’re swinging the fly. It also adds friction when you’re making the cast helping you to load your rod properly.
With the clear coating you’re less likely to spook the fish and more likely to hook them.

Clear intermediate tip keeps your fly just under the surface
Clear tip is also less likely to be seen by the fish
