The new ‘Raptor’ series represents a new direction for Snowbee. Having developed a new Sea Angling range in 2011, for 2012 they wanted to launch a new range of Spinning rods and reels, equally at home on rivers, spinning for Trout, Sea-Trout and Salmon, as on the shoreline, spinning for Bass, Pollack and Mackerel.

Raptors are the result of considerable development and testing to fulfill their design brief of the ultimate ‘all-round’ predator series of spinning rods. These fast action rods have a model to cover all applications. Manufactured using the latest 24 and 30 ton carbon, the use of multidirectional carbon mat allows them to produce very light weight blanks, which are still highly resilient, with huge reserves of power… for when needed. Fast, responsive tips, with a smooth, progressive power curve, right through to the butt!

For travelling convenience, Snowbee used their expertise in designing multi-piece fly rods, to develop 3-pce blanks which pack down to a convenient 33”. Using their well-proven Tri-Modulus Carbon Technology, they use a subtle mix of different modulus carbon fibres down through the blank, to achieve a smooth power curve, every bit as good as a 1-pce blank, with no ‘flatspots’ on the joins.

At 6ft 6ins they are the ideal length for Speed Jigging – long enough to ‘work’ the jig effectively, but short enough to apply pressure to set the hook, when the inevitable ‘smash takes’ occur.

Snowbees new range includes two models. The medium weight Jigging Rod, rated for 80-150g jigs is ideal for reef fishing, or jigging for Bass on inshore wrecks, when they shoal-up in the autumn. The heavier model is rated for 120-250g jigs and is ideal for any kind of wreck fishing, where heavier jigs are needed in the deeper water, to get down fast.

Deep Blue Sea Bass Special Rods

The ultra-fast blanks use Snowbees well proven ‘Tri-Modulus Carbon’ Technology. A subtle mix of varying modulus carbon fibres down through the blank, achieves the exact action required – a fast, but sensitive tip, with a smooth, progressive power curve, right through to the butt. To help achieve this, Snowbee used a unique carbon lay-up, called ‘Helical-Core Construction’, whereby strips of carbon ‘pre-preg’ matt progressively overlap one another to create an ultra-light, but immensely strong blank, with a gradually increasing stiffness. A section of the blank is left exposed to show this distinctive construction method.

The Snowbee Deep Blue Boat Rods have already build a ‘cult following’, since their introduction and epitomise the very best boat rods on the market today. Make no mistake, these are not US style stand-up or trolling rods. The Deep Blue range was developed over a period of 2 years to meet the requirements of UK boat fishermen, looking for perfection. The blanks have sensitive tips allowing you to feel every bite, while the steep taper, combined with varying wall thickness and an innovative mix of carbon fibre grades, provides a progressive power curve, right down to the butt. Finished in a lustrous deep blue, with subtle whippings & decals and using Fuji fittings throughout, the Deep Blue oozes class. Unlike most boat rods on the market, the Deep Blue range are accurately rated to IGFA line classes, so if we say it’s a 12lb Class, it is.

At 7ft 7ins they offer the ideal length for the serious boat angler and include a model to suit all fishing situations. The 3 lighter rods in the range, the 8lb, 12lb & 20lb use a push-in spigot join for the butt section, while the heavier 30lb & 50lb use the Fuji screw reel fitting.

Our new 8ft 6ins multi-piece Popping/Boat Rod is a powerful popping rod, cleverly designed so the 2 top sections fit on to the additional ‘boat rod’ butt section supplied. This converts to a powerful 6ft 4ins boat rod; a perfect combination when travelling overseas and luggage weight is all important and packing down to a convenient 29” (74cms). In its ‘Popping Rod’ format this 60-165g (2-6oz) rated rod is capable of taming anything from tail-walking Tarpon, to mighty GT’s heading for the coral! This powerful new rod will easily throw the largest of surface poppers and plugs, but has reserves of power, ready for the unexpected! Lightweight graphite reel seats and quality Silicon Carbide lined rings throughout.

Attach the two top sections to the second butt section supplied and you have a 6ft 4ins 20-30lb class boat rod, ideal for anything from trolling for Kingfish to deep water jigging. Both butt sections fitted with a nylon gimbal fitting and cover.
