But what is the reality? Where are those reels on the market? Why don't fly reels allow us to manage all fight situations while simply holding the rod with one hand and the reel handle with the other? Why do we have to re-adjust drag knobs, palm spool rims, pass the rod from one hand to the other and so on?
Driven by these questions and committed to the basic values of harmony and simplicity we, Georgi & Stef Chivarov, developed Varioverse. What we did was simplifying the problem of fly reels, making the self-responding, bringing them in balance with the rest of the tackle.

One would ask, whether the invention of Varioverse was a lucky strike, and why exactly we were able to develop it? Our experience in fly fishing was certainly not exceeding the expertise of the specialists working for the big fly reel manufacturers in the world. Even worse, unlike them we didn't have the facilities with all that CNC-machines and equipment allowing the production of a nearly unlimited number for prototypes. We even didn't have a garage. Only a Vision. However we could rely on qualification and experience in the field of mechanical and material engineering, and what might have been decisive, expertise on the field of patent information. We have had the patience to scrutinize the history of the fly reel development back to the end of the 19th century on the basis of more than 100 patent documents. And then, the concept of Varioverse came somehow unforced as it would follow in a logical way from all this knowledge and experience.
