Our new range of multipliers 420 are designed and built to the very highest standards possible.
They have been tested in almost all methods of fishing, from freshwater pike fishing to deep sea wrecking. These reels are standard issue for the England National Boat team, and a firm favourite with Ray Barron, European champion 2005.
This reel is finished in gunmetal grey and has brass side plates. All come with aluminium spool, three ball bearings, super grip handle, and a high 5.3:1 gear ratio.

Abel Super Series Reels

Abel have made Large Arbor reels since 1995. During those years they have developed the perfect ratio of arbor (hub) size to the overall spool. Too big a hub and there’s not enough backing capacity; too small and you’ve defeated the purpose of a large arbor spool.
Super Series reels sizes 6 and larger are built with a Double Pawl System. There are a number of advantages to the Abel double pawl – increased reliability and back-uup strength to name two. The Double Pawl System changed our sound . . . going from click click click click to something more like clickclickclickclick. Think of a fine Swiss watch.
All Super Series reels are ported (ventilated) using a design that maintains total strength and rigidity in the metal.

The Vision XLA is lighter, tougher and more beautiful than before. New machining and Spool design has further reduced weight, while an all-new hard anodized finish offers protection to a different level than ordinary reels. At it’s heart, XLA has an extremely advanced ATH™ sealed drag and bearing system. You need never worry about water, sand or dirt. Having the smoothest brake system possible is essential. It also has to work wet or dry and be precisely adjusted. XLA drag system delivers. In sizes from 4-5 up to 8-9 there is a Teflon stainless steel drag. The brake power is tuned higher to match the reel size. In sizes 9-10 and 11 the brake material is graphite to increase the power but still keep it smooth. These reels are designed to perform at the highest level for year after year.
